Chartered FinTech Professional (CFtP)

The Chartered FinTech Professional (CFtP) qualification is developed by Global FinTech Institute (GFI), in collaboration with its academic partners – the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and the Shanghai Institute of International Finance Center (SIIFC) of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

The aims of the qualification are the promotion of the field of Fintech and professionalism in the Fintech industry. In addition, the CFtP provides a pathway for professionals in other industries who aspire to make a career in Fintech.

The CFtP consists of two levels, Level 1 and Level 2. Upon successful completion of all the exams for the two levels as well as satisfying experience requirements, candidates will be awarded the Charter.

Exam Details

All CFtP exams are conducted in an online remotely proctored format; in-center computer-based testing is available for candidates in selected cities.

All questions in Level 1 are multiple-choice questions. Level 2 questions are a combination of multiple-choice and short essay questions.

All candidates are required to obtain a passing grade for the Level 1AB Foundation paper in order to proceed with the subsequent examinations.

Dates, Fees & Resources

  • Examinations for both Levels are administered in July and December, except the Level 1AB Foundation paper, which is conducted all year round (except on Mondays).
  • Program Enrolment (one-time fee for candidature of 5 years): US $300
  • Level 1 Exam Registration: US $1,500
  • Level 2 Exam Registration: US $1,500

Exemption

Students or graduates of Finance or FinTech-related majors may apply for exemption from Level 1A: Finance and/or Level 1B: FinTech.

Holders of relevant professional certifications may be granted exemptions from the relevant modules. The Exemption Committee of the GFI will evaluate on all exemption matters.

No exemptions will be granted for the Level 1AB: Foundation paper and the Level 2 papers.
